Allison Chinchar, a CNN and HLN meteorologist for CNN and HLN. She is frequently featured on CNN's 'New Day Weekend" and HLN's "Weekend Express' as well in CNN International programs. Before joining CNN, in June of 2015, she worked at numerous local radio stations which included those in Atlanta and Nashville. She covered hurricanes and blizzards along with flooding and wildfires and was awarded an Emmy for her coverage of Hurricane Dorian, which hit the Bahamas in the year 2019. In April of 2011, she covered super tornado outbreak where 350 tornadoes struck the Southeastern United States within four days. Around 200 tornadoes happened on April 27, the day of the Super Tornado Outbreak. Because of her training in the field of environmental science, she's covered earthquakes, volcanoes and other natural catastrophes and climate change stories. Chinchar has a bachelor's degree in Atmospheric Science, which she obtained from The Ohio State University. She's also a part of the American Meteorological Society and Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society.
